Correction, the right side is a white reverse lamp (standard everywhere in the is white. . . ) and the other side is a rear fog lamp (red). It's common throughout for asian and euro spec cars to have 1 or 2 reverse lamps. It's also a common cost cutting move to just have only 1 reverse lamp and 1 rear fog light, since most countries only require 1 rear reverse lamp and 1 rear fog. For the USDM, they just remove the rear fogs all together for most cars.
