I think the OP's question is answered, which is that one guy with an Echo mated a 6-speed to a 4AGE.

My question is what is the advantage to a 6-speed on this car?

well, given the the powerband is pretty linear in the this car, i would imagine just to have closer gearing to stay in whatever piece of the powerband you'd like more easily?

lower 6th than the yaris's 5th for lower rpms on the highway?

Maybe the new 6 speed gearbox seen with the 1NR-FE engine could work. But i doubt its worth the effort.

It was a great eight year run, but it was time to focus on other things. I'm still selling parts on eBay under micro*image seller ID and customers can still make requests for anything specific.
