I use an 18" for drivers side and a 12" for passenger side, rational for the smaller wiper is less load on the wiper motor with the assumption of increased longevity,i find the $6 ones from Canadian Tire work fine and put on new winter wipers every fall and new summer ones around April. In case some one is wondering what the difference is between a winter and summer wiper

the Germans already use that thick design as their OEM wipers since early 80s.

Keeping all them pivot points free of ice and dirt is a good idea, last couple of years i've left the winter wipers on all year with no problems..
