nice. 45 mpg is awesome. Of course I am pretty sure the sedan generally gets better gas mileage. I am happy getting 32 mpg right now because I only drive 250 miles or so a month.

gah i need to start on my audio plans, tax season is almost over finally.

Go post on that thread as well D. Explaining you didn't receive a scoresheet and if anybody else received one. See what type of feedback you get.

Is that DIYMA ?

I went there and found the post. They used the excuse you left early. Lolll. Have them post it on site or in a PM. Good luck bro.

I should send you one of my rule books for IASCA.

Not a lot has changed in the program for a long time, save for classifications (for the most part).

Cool!

I'm picking up the drive 1st thing tomorrow.

Black wheels are in place! Yaris is back!

First 60 miles with black wheels and new tires...
what can I say going from old snow tires the ride feels like heaven.

The ride is quiet, smooth and responsive, so far I like the new rubber.

Some thing I found very interesting... what's going on with people and my Yaris with "black wheels"

for some reason a lot of cars where trying to race the little Yaris this morning... Naahhh I just let them go and think...

"man! my car sounds better than yours"

There are SOOO many! The single tracks are the latest of what I'm listening to...

The King's Singers, Brooke Frasier, Canadian Brass, the Focal CDs, the SQ CD file...

There are just so many. MJ's albums.

You'll have some repeats in there but a vast majority is all different.

...of course go through the IASCA CD.

Look who gets the best gas mileage. Derrick here averages 42, Malibuguy gets ridiculous, and just browsing the fe forum, besides STC and Hershey, the ones at the top all have sedans. Plus, the extra length of the sedans help gas mileage. There are reports out Car companies are having tough times with the smaller than sub compacts achieving worthy gas mileage because the cars are just too short.

I need to think on the definition of good. At this point I am worried if I buy expensive stuff right off I will blow them up. If I start with cheap components and good wires, when I figure everything out and blow up the cheap speakers, I can replace them with better ones that won't be destroyed.

I browsed Scott's build on that Infiniti on line. Oh my. Even just the wiring. Overkill much? Does it really take some super compound wires to win World Championships?

Hey D, are there any audio meet ups coming up? The DIYMA forums seem surprisingly empty on any audio meets in Mass. Unless that type of stuff all happens at shows. Or I am blind. Both are possibilities.

Right now we will meet on 4/21 in Syracuse NY, after that something will come out, I will post it here.

But we could make a Yaris/Audio meet any time you want, I'm sure CTScott, and other YarisWorld members will join us too.

You could take my approach, and start little by little, for example... my sound system, without a professional install that sounds good. Scott's Infiniti is more a car for shows with extreme detail on everything not only in Sound Quality.

Don't build up "Scott's" G35 too much.

I had plenty of time in it. I can guarantee my low end in my 2011 iteration of a sound system was much better. I'd also put the rest of the sound against it any day. The real reason it sounds good is the MANY hours of tuning...not the equipment.

Now that you guys have seen what it takes to make an IQc install...approach competition in that class carefully. The politics in the bigger shows is outrageous. I've personally seen Scott throw a fit (a very disgusting sight) when he wasn't guaranteed a win. Stick with SQc and stay away from the bigger shows until you have some shows under your belt (if you want to go that far).

That last example is one of several reasons I left Team Hybrids and dumped HAT products. I know what the soul of the company is...and it's not good.

The G35 is now sold to Klifton Keplinger (Scott's right hand man). He's claiming it and scott's install as his own. Very thin claim ethically...

Totally nuts. politics unfortunately creeps its way into everything. I doubt personally that I would ever compete, I'm just not built that way.

It is a sad fact that the people who get on top usually do so kicking, screaming, and walking over everyone else.

Probably right. I work 6 days a week right now, but I hope that will be changing soon, I am hoping to get a job near Uxbridge. Sundays are the only days I get off at the moment. I do need to show you my new toy and get some advice on where to start.

Yea, insane overkill. I just want a good sounding system with absolutely no insulation. Hmm, do you think a judge would ever give a stripped to the bone car a good score?
