I can't believe Toyota makes a Yaris with 69hp. I can't imagine you guys drive highway out there. That would kill those engines. No? That engine almost exactly matches up with the Smart Fortwo (US version anyway). It has a 1.0 3-cylinder 70 hp engine. And the Smart is 500lbs less than the Yaris! Yet, the Smart get's an underwhelming 33/41 mpg (EPA) rating. This begs the question as to what the MPG rating is for the 1.0 Yaris (EPA equivalent). Because often times, a lower displacement engine doesn't benefit too much because it has to work a lot harder. Anyone have an EPA conversion rating? Our 106hp engine is the smallest engine in the US (other than the Smart) although not the slowest. |
