Buffalogirl,
You weren't dreaming-you were probably smelling gas too. The same thing happened to my SILs Hyandai and the smell of gas was how we found her oil cap sitting on top of the valve cover. No oil mess in her case though, so no oil burning to cover the smell of gas. R2
