hmm, I'm skeptical but they're slightly sexier with the tech talk to back it up (At least from Alpine)
170 shipped each on ebay isnt too bad but I wanna see real world differences and results before I buy 3 new ones and a 2000 watt amp to match the new specs.

Can't be that much difference in sound quality. ![]() The new ones are a little more shallow, and can handle a little more power. ( 100 more watts RMS ) I still like last years model Type-R subs. My little 10" Type-R sounds great. I enjoy it more everytime I listen to it. It's not overpowering, it sits nice in the mix. Good strong bass. I'm glad I didn't get two of them. One gets the job done. If I didn't already have my Type-R sub, I would get one of the new ones.

thats cool that they are using, or came up with a new linear motor technology, and even added Dumax Charts for the Bl curve & Kms. However, that new motor doesn't really stay linear that long. It was flat for the first half of the x-max value (first 10mm)... then went to a normal Bl curve... and then eventually craped out at 17mm.
All in all, it should be a good sounding sub. Probably one of the lowest distortion subs that retails for under $200. I haven't looked at the T/S specs yet... hopefully this thing isn't running a crazy high Qts value which would make it a large box woofer like the W7 or all the LMS motor woofers.
