With car jacked up, if it's a wheel bearing you should be able to feel a little bit of play in the wheel, with your hands @ 6 & 12 o'clock on the tire. And too, while driving you should be able to confirm if it's a wheel bearing by giving the steering wheel a few little quick, small jerks (exercise a little caution when doing so)...the noise you're hearing will change when moving the steering.
