I believe I read in the user manual that the recommended entry procedure if you don't have a key, is to break the rear side window.

that is moronic, have you looked at window replacement costs? i have a habit of locking my key in my car, i think i've done it 5 or 6 times now, finally just remembered to put an extra key in my wallet.

If you have power locks from the factory and leave the keys in the ignition, the car won't lock!
I tried it every way and the lock "fights" you and keeps on opening itself!
Cool...
This WON'T work if you leave keys on seat or dashboard, sorry..

This WON'T work if you leave keys on seat or dashboard, sorry..
... you "Can" if you lock the doors and go out the hatch or the trunk...

You can do this with the car running too...
