ok, new plan! i want to do a Hertz?Audison install. After browsing the forums, it seems like that is a good way to go. I'm just worried about power consumption for the amps. will the 1 litre engine handle it?

If you are still worried about your charging system, you could always use a capacitor. Capacitors are great at taking the strain off of your car's charging system. Unlike a battery, they provide instant power to your amp for musical peaks like bass notes, because they charge and discharge very quickly. The general guideline for capacitors is 1 farad per 1000 Watts. So if you have an amp with 500 Watts or less, a 0.5 farad capacitor should be fine. You could even use a 1 farad cap if you can't find a 0.5. You can't have too much capacitance.
