i just went over there...didn't log-in. The server recognizes your user ID...doesn't let you click onto the HOME PAGE, just the forums itself...its an exact mirror of this site w/ same posts....

I guess that is what fooled people easily..
Anyhow, i changed my password right after going there..

Looks like coheed is unbanned and back again~ Did you mods figure out how to overcome it?

People with affected accounts should contact a moderator. That way we can coordinate a temporary lift of the ban so that they can change their passwords safely.

Yep thats pretty much it. I sent PK198105 a pm over on MI and he changed my password. Then I logged in with that one and reset it on my own.

No offense to the moderators, but I think it would be appropriate to notify the users that were banned as opposed to expecting them to contact you. I notice at least one NEW member was affected and is probably feeling a bit confused and/or insulted by the ban.

Seriously, when mods take an action on an account for any reason I would think the best thing to do for all involved is to take the time to send the account owner an email instead of leaving them wondering what the heck just happened.

They do get an email notifying them of the ban, but only if the email address is valid.
