100mph. Compared to other cars I've been in at that speed the Yaris was the worse.

Can't afford the speeding ticket so I won't play. But, I will comment that on the freeway my '07 stock hatch wants to cruise at 78 mph. It's hard to keep the darned thing down, but when it hits 78 it just runs real nice and smooth. But, darn it, I have to watch it because I don't want a ticket.
I'm not a young guy, but when mine was a few weeks overdue for delivery I raised a fuss and threatened to cancel my order. The dealership offered me a Scion tC as a loaner until my hatch came in. Now, I realize that a tC is not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination, but it was one peppy little ride. I had it out on the freeway one day and was in a rather peppy mood myself and had to outrun a cop, quickly exit the freeway, and cruise around a corner and hide in a motel parking lot. Fortunately, he got hung up somewhere along the way and never caught up with me. That experience that day told me that I may never have a high performance car. E v e r. Darn it.... I had mine up to about 105 ONCE. Other than that it has only been to 90 three times and since I moved to St Paul the car hasn't been over 70 in the last year.

90 is the best I have done in my 08HB all stock. My old Corolla I got up to 105 once and it was shaking and walking quite a bit so let off the throttle.
These days I drive for a balance of getting there with out driving like an old woman and economy. |
