I think the problem was that he was running an outdated version of vBulletin. The Google cache page shows version 4.0.3 and the latest version is 4.0.7. Since his main page of the site (index.html) redirected to the forum, he should just change the redirect to some other page for now and disable the forum.
This same person has also attacked sites that use WordPress. Yikes! This site is running 3.8.0. Knock on plastic Yaris interior panels LOL. The store is still up since nothing was deleted.
