For me the issue was that it would start chiming if I had something sitting on the passenger seat.

+1 ... I find it annoying as hell because I have my laptop bag on my front seat many times and the chime always goes...I can deal with the flashing light, but the chime is PITA. I still need to get with you on that tool Scott.

it is mostly because of the annoying chime. Heck, even when I take a turn and lean on the passenger seat the stupid thing starts to charm. Imagine then what it must be like if you have a harness or an aftermarket seat or something else.
