I've got the Tanabe NF's and 205/50/16's on BBS and I've had to modify the front inner plastic liner so they don't rub: bent the front and back metal tabs and then used a heat gun to modify the plastic liner at the tabs

Ya'll are rubbin with 205's? What offset are you running.. I have 225/50R15's with absoluly no rubbing.... and I have plenty of room to lower... Teyrume with the supercharged Hatch is running the same size as me and he is lowered with no problems.... Ya'll must be running an odd offset

My tires rarely rub with 205 50 16s. My wheels are 16X7 +40 offset. Only on hard turns at speed, or large dips at speed will the tires rub the inner fenders in the front. The TRD strus should keep it from rubbing on all but the largest bumps at speed.

Do you guys think that 205/45/16 would rub, with most moderate lowering springs?

From what I gather, so long as you have the correct offset... for a 6.5" wheel its +40 for a 7" wheel +45, it shldnt rub at all.
Right ? |

No rub
Hey, dresden_k
I drive on 205/45/16 with Tanabe NF210. No rub. Zero problems. I will post new pictures this week so you can check out the lowering situation. I need to clean the outside before posting new pix. Its drives great. I do still need a alignment but that will happen this Saturday. I personally believe that you should always do the alignment after removing the springs. Rwseattle. |
