Hmmm... My old 69 z28 and my Old 80 z38 both were factory cowl intake breathers....and my 70 trans am draws all it's air from it's reverse cowl shaker 10 inches from window and it has a air flow sensitive flapper that is quite active in the low pressure area...oh yea and my 450 + horse roller 355 in my stingray draws 100% of its air from a sealed l88 cowl scoop that's 1 inch from the window... I have never had any air starvation issues .. Even at 6500rpm..
2 Old heads I know use yarn taped to the hood to check air flow over hoods for scoop placement.. Not real science IMO but it worked for them for years and they both were excellent 1/4 mile winners. I may tape some yarn to the yaris..lol IMO... It's all just fun to me... I am not expecting anything from my mods to the yaris..all the yaris is for is good mileage and realiable function. I have it set up to track it this spring and all my pals laugh at me but even if I place last at Least I took a econo egg and gave it a try ...lol Last edited by annn; 03-02-2011 at 03:19 PM. |
