Should i claim insurance?

"Rewarded" huh....is that what your country has let you believe is a "reward"? I can call my insurance co tomorrow and change my deductible up and down from zero to whatever number I decide. Sucks to be Canadian, I guess.

Yubbut, Mazilla, if you call up and adjust your deductible to zero, your rates go up.
In the UK, where I grew up, they had what they called a No-Claims Bonus, and after 10 years or so, it could drop your payments to about 50% of the original.

True, but the increase is insignificant if you have a claim...I think mine went up about 12 dollars a month to have a 50.00(comprehensive) deductible. I keep my collision deductible @ 500 because it seems to make a bigger difference. Occasionally somebody will do something to my car(steal something, scratch it, etc) and since it's not my fault, and not an accident, it's does not increase my rates.

Its the same in Canada, don't listen to that guy he knows nothing. I just called my insurance and got a quote if I change to $0 deductible, the price would increase from $1500 to $2480. Easy easy.

I was wondering why it would be like that, thanks for clearing that up. Ask your agent what the price would be to keep your collision deductible higher and take your comprehensive down to 50.00 or so...you might be surprised. Of course I get my rates lower because of all the insurance I carry, and my perfect driving record so it may not be the same for everybody. I pay about 150.00 per month for all those vehicles, full coverage(except the 70 cougar, cause they won't do it) with a 500.00 collision and a 50.00 comprehensive.
