Now, at 50lbs I really doubt you'll have an issue...but that's where it starts, it ends upside-down on the freeway after you've gotten complacent with Your "experiments" and normally I'd say it's your life, do with it as you please...but when it comes to driving you have to consider the lives of the people around you, that's what's really at stake here.

It's not money smart, it's selfish.

Selfish? I don't see how it is selfish to try to maximize you miles and minimize cost.

You need to climb down off that high horse. Most of the people on here seem to not have any safety impacts and the savings appear to be very common sense.

You are more than entitled to your opinion, just as we are entitled to ours. But it isn't selfish....but maybe you don't really understand the meaning of the word.

Well you sure can look the word up....too bad you can't use it properly in a sentence.

Maybe they didn't teach you that at tire tech school...eh?

Here, how about this...

"big dave" is too selfish to admit the insignificant gains he may realize in fuel economy pale in comparison to the danger he places himself and those around him in.

ETA: You're only running 50 PSI... I've already said the people running 50 are not likely to have any problem, it's the 15+ psi that worries me...so stop arguing with me.

I run 32 psi, and I just checked the mpg at my last fill-up (40.1 mpg) ...all in town driving.

I bet these guys that run 60 psi don't tell their auto insurance agent, the guy mounting their tires, the cops, the guys at the dealership, etc, but they're sure eager to stand high on the soapbox here ...

You still don't know how to use the word correctly. I think the word that would be more proper to use in your rant is "weckless".

And that would an opinion, not a fact, since I have been able to safely drive on 50psi for a number of months without any safety issues.

Just because you can spell a word and look up the words meaning, doesn't mean you know how to use it correctly. Its hard to take someone seriously when they mangle the English language!

Seriously? That's what you're going with? I'm embarrassed for you.

I have a strong impression you are embarrassed enough before you ever clear the bathroom in the morning....assuming...and I know its a real stretch....that you actually use the bathroom in the morning!

Now go change some tires and keep America rolling!
