No, they are separate from the brake lines. There are bleeder valves on the front calipers and rear drum. You dont have to do anything with the brake line to flush brake fluid.
If you take a wheel off and look behind, you'll see a little nut with a rubber cap on it sticking out, that's the bleeder valve, and the brake line goes in right below that.
The potential to mess up and drop all brake pressure and then kill yourself is rather imminent if you do something wrong here... But it's $40-50 DIY vs $150+ at dealers, so it was totally worth risking my life for.
