To be clear, the button on the dash stays illuminated even in the off position with the key out of the ignition or the lights stay on if the switch is in the on position regardless of the car being on or even keys being in the ignition? I have some of these on the way from MI and am very curious about this. Thanks,

Correct. The problem is that the MI kit was really not designed to be used with the OEM wiring, but rather with its own harness. Using it with the OEM wiring is much simpler/cleaner, but to do it correctly, you need to have the illumination and switching separate (which they are not as the switch is built). So, my updated DIY for the MI fog kit requires you to pop open the switch and remove a resistor to isolate lighting from switching. This gets rid of the always on (even with the car off) light.

I think I missed it somehow, but where is this updated DIY for the MI fogs?
I had mounted the fogs, but haven't had time to actually do the wiring as
yet. I would probably want to do this light switch mod as well.

Good to know... I will make sure to set aside some extra time to do the fogs when they come in. Thanks so much!
