The USA spends $720 million a day for the "war" in Iraq. The UN predicts that $25 million would end world hunger; I think the USA could spend their money much wiser.

People and societies have to develop their own ways of improving their life styles. Poor countries are poor because they either haven't embraced capitalism or they live under controlled regimes with little freedom and their corrupt governments take any wealth produced. You can't just give people money and expect things to change. It's why welfare very seldom leads a person to success. And it's why socialistic societies develop very little innovation. Where's the incentive?
