I hope that my statement ref pulleys brought this on. My only thing was to point out that because I put them on and maybe overtightened the belt that I may have contributed to the failure so therefore I repaired myself. All is well.

which is why i made my statement of aftermarket parts not being a contributing factor....

Maybe some road chemical that somehow got onto your belt and was slung upwards

Did you check your AC ?
