There are faster phones out there, to be sure, but that EVO 4G is still a damn good phone. However, I think at this point, I agree with the posters, I think we would get more out of the device if we root. EVO just got Gingerbread over the air and it's nice enough (cosmetic differences mostly) but it's starting to get laggy, at times. Plus there are all these apps I don't need and can't get rid of, that are taking valuable space in the phone's internal memory. Soooo, those of you who could do it in their sleep ![]() (PK, Etimago, Kioshi, Altitude, etc.) could you kindly give us root-noobs some pointers so we don't have to roam each and every thread @ XDA ? :-)Links, tips and tricks greatly appreciated ![]()

Simply and easy. I suggest reading the instructions at least 3x..3 TIMES! Not saying you are illiterate....its just...i did the same as i wanted to do everything correctly w/o bricking the phone. Once you learn it, it becomes second nature to root your phone if you ever get a replacement....or flash different roms. ![]() @ tomato - try unrevoked as well....its super easy to root with that one too. Actually, thats what i used twice to root. P.S - Almost all NCVC members have Android phones if not rooted haha....not sure about the ones i have not met yet. |

Dont flash beta roms....they will be unstable. You wont be able to make calls and a whole other boat load of stuff.
Just flash CM7 and call it a day. Its stable enough to use everyday. Or look at HTC custom roms that have been in development for a long time, those are the ones to go for. Other than that, no surprises tomato. |
