If you park amongst other cars you'll see that there are many that are smaller. I think it's a bit of an optical illusion mostly due to the "stubby" front end.

It looks smaller than it is, due to the proportions. The Yaris isn't a long car, but it's disproportionally tall and wide. The sedan looks a bit more proportional (especially in comparison to other B-segment sedans) but the hatch is an odd looking car.
It has really smart packaging. I remember the first time I got into a Yaris hatchback. The space was incredible, both front and rear. |
