Thanks again CT. Another problem. The mechanic fitted the drivers airbag suited to the 10/2009. He plugged a device into a port under the dash and showed me that no codes were now shown on the digital display of his diagnostic tool. The problem now is that the airbag light on the instrument panel wont go out when the engine is running. What does this indicate? Is there a way to reset it so the light off. Thanks, Bert

An OBD scanner won't read or reset the SRS ECU's stored codes. A Toyota specific scanner would be required. That's where the simple process I posted the link to comes into play, as it allows one to do so, without the expensive equipment.

Hi CT. Apologise for my lack of knowledge. What function does the OBD scanner perform? The mechanic says he found error codes with the OBD scanner but now they are cleared yet the airbag light is still on, on the instrument panel. Does this sound correct and possible? I thank you for the information and instruction using the TC and CG terminals. Is this process specifically for resetting the airbag light on the instrument panel.

G'day CT. Went through the process several times. Still have a problem. The light does not go out at step 4. Do you have an idea of what that indicates. BTW. I accidently posted this same message on another thread. Please ignore that one. Regards Bert

When you do step 2, do you see the flashing pattern of the SRS light? If so, what numbers can you make out from it?

Not sure how I decipher the number sequence. It seemed to flash quite quickly.

The pattern keeps repeating. If you can't tell the difference between the short and long pauses, take a video and email it to me.
