I won't be lowering the car. Just want to put some nicer looking wheels on it. In 1987, I had a silver Nissan with silver 8 spoke wheels and loved them. They were replicas of the old time Panasport racing wheels popular in the 60's and 70's...

(not my car)

I was pleasanely suprized to discover that the same style wheels are widely available today!
Really like those wheels, the ones in the picture are called Panasports, they were hugely popular in the '80s. I ran a very simular wheel made by Enkie on 2 of my racecars back in those days, have always loved the look. Think this thread has made up my mind as to which wheel I want for my '10 Yaris!!

I know Enkei's well as I had a silver set on a 1987 silver Nissan Sentra. They were $90 a wheel 25 years ago, and $140 a wheel now. In the 60's everyone called them "mag wheels" because some of the early cast alloy racing wheels were actually made of magnesium.

One of the most popular "mag" wheel styles of that time were Crager 5 spokes...

...made famous by Steve McQueen and his Mustang in the movie "Bullitt".

Steve did all of the driving in that movie himself because he was a professional racer.

I don't care much for any of the new wheel designs and am really happy that the old classic "mags" are still being made.
