I just measured them. The steel bars I used are actually 20" long. 1/2" thick and 20" wide. They hang a few inches in the foot area for the rear seat. But, I took the rear seat out and built a flat platform, so that doesn't matter. They are more than strong enough to support the back of the seat. Even with my 6'-4" 250 lbs.
It took about eight hours to drill them and get everything done with the seats. For more comfort, I've been toying with the idea of having an upholstery shop add a couple of inches of stiff foam to the front of the seat bottom to extend it. And, recover them. |
