I have a 2007 3dr hatchback. A couple of weeks ago, 2 deer bolted out of a bush in front of me at about 45 mph. I hit one head on. The grill and Toyota emblem went flying across the road and when I got out, the front bumper was broken loose across the top and covered with blood and hair. I tied the top of the bumper back on with strips of plastic bags, gathered up the grill and emblem and made it home.
I examined the grill and emblem and they must have skidded on their backs because there was not a scratch on them. I washed off the bumper and it had no damage. The only thing that broke were the plastic fasteners that held the top of the bumper on. I put a few nuts and bolts where the fasteners were and reattached the bumper. The radiator mount had deflected a fraction of an inch so the hood didn't line up correctly, so I took a wooden 2x4 and gently pried the radiator mount to the correct place, using the engine block for leverage. I snapped the grill and emblem back in and it was the same as new. I saved my $500 deductible on my insurance. I did order new plastic fasteners (and some extras) to replace the bolts I used so if it happens again, I can just snap it back together again.
