I don't like the new Yaris

My girlfriend has a 2010 Yaris 3dr and I like mine infinitely better. I wouldn't have bought a Yaris though if there wasn't an SE available. It's a great package.

Have you driven your girlfriend's 3-door? If so, do you notice a difference in stability in an environment with a lot of cross wind between your girlfriend's car and your car? The only negative re driving my car is that it sometimes feels as if a crosswind is 'tossing' it a bit. I experienced this on I-75 yesterday and my first thought was 'I wonder if some of the people on Yarisworld with SEs experience this'?

Yes, I've driven her 2010 a lot and it does get really nervous on the highway, even when it was new. She now has +70k miles. My co-worker has a 2008 sedan and says the same thing.

As for my car, it handles crosswinds MUCH better than hers(even when hers was new) and is more of a solid drive on the highway.

Thank you so much for your answer. It has likely changed the trajectory of which Yaris I pick to eventually replace my current Yaris and could only be answered by someone familiar with both the SE and the 3-door. Having a 5-speed manual is most important to me. After that, increased stability is more important to me than avoiding power windows. If the SE still has the 5-speed available when I replace my car, I'll probably get the SE. If the 5-speed is no longer available on the SE but is still available on the 3-door L, but the L then has power windows it will be a hard choice between the Prius C and the L. If the SE no longer has the 5-speed available, but the 3-door L does and the L still has hand crank windows I'll probably pick the 3-door L with hand crank windows.
