Put the vise grips on the lip of the clip (in red) and pull straight up while wiggling the vise grips back and forth... then do the same for the other clip!

WD40 is a 100% must !!
To make it easier, what i did was to rotate the clip such that the flat part is facing LEFT instead up upwards in the picture.
Using a flat head screw driver and putting it in between the cable and the flat part, kinda using the "uneven" surface of the gearbox as leverage to "lift" the clip out.
It makes it alot easier for the right side cable, the left side requires abit more dexterity lol
Just watch your strength as to not damage anything and not let the clip fly out and go missing in the engine bay =P
