So is it better to have stiffer springs in the rear?

It really depends what you are looking for.

If you want no drama, do what 1.5 mentioned, and get stiffer in the front. Honestly 99% of cars are set up this way, and for a reason. It is simply safer to drive.

With the rear stiffer, the car will be more neutral handling wise, which is great if you want great handling, and like Garm, you want to race.

But for a daily driver, if you don't want to deal with being on the cutting edge handling wise, it can be dangerous.

I have 8k front and 5k rear, and the rear of my hatch is stripped. I can get the rear end to rotate out a bit for fun if I want to. I imagine if I went to 10k in the rear, it would be much easier to get that rotation, or in terms of daily driving, that oh crap moment where you swerve is going to send you spinning like mad unless you are use to it.

Saying that I will probably get 10k in the rear at some point, and maybe stiffer. For me, 8k in the front is not firm enough. Partially because I am not a small person physically.
