You change the oil per the OWNERS MANUAL which in the US at least makes no distinction between regular and synthetic oil. The oil change interval is the same for either oil.
Look in your owners manual and go by that. If they are not following the OM you probably have a legal case against them!  But be advised, you can be sued by the big oil companies for calling regular oil "cheap"!  You dont want to get on their bad side now do you?
