I just put the original intake back on and will remove neg term for a little while. then will drive for a month to see if CEL comes back on. If not would you agree the MAF is fine?

That's an excellent test...
...as it will definitively indicate whether the issue is with the intake itself or with the MAF. Do keep me posted as to the results.
