YarisSedan is correct as most cars can handle a bit of overfilling without any ill effects .
A problem can arise if you overfill it so much that the 'bottom" of the crank dips in the oil as it spins causing the oil to foam effecting oil pressure and its ability to protect etc .
If after some high revving and/or prolonged highway driving, etc you do not notice any hint of foam on your dip stick, you are OK . A half quart over is usually just fine.
BTW, this is why some engines call for an odd amount of oil. The spec published for oil amount has been adjusted to allow for some overfilling
