Squealing Belt Noise

It is indeed a loose or worn belt. Once you run it loose for a bit it gets "glazed" on the contact surface and at that point no matter how much you tighten it it will squeal at least at startup.

The Yaris belt is under $20 US and it quite easy to replace, so your best bet is to do so.

Thanks Scott. And what if I preferred to tighten it rather than get a new one ? - is there a vid or diagram to show this ?

I agree 100% with C. T. Scott. If the belt is glazed it is scrap. Fit a quality new one and clean each pulley carefully. Tension correctly, no more squeal.
