The only way you really need to be concerned is if it stays in cold weather like winter freezing weather. Pretty much all oil providers tell you to store motor oil above a certain temp to maintain the molecular structure it is supposed to.

^^this. plus ensuring the cap was sealed correctly prior to storage. moisture wouldn't mix with the oil, but the container condensation (inside) can be swept along while you're pouring it.
