Shipping containers are an option, but larger or more irregular package sizes also add a lot to the cost.

I don't need to go that large, but for example the parts pictured above that Japle was interested in would fit in a box 26" x 18" x 12", which is by no means a huge box, but with USPS (which for packages this size is almost always the cheapest method of shipping out of the US) it exceeds the maximum box size for Priority Mail, so you have to move up to GXG Express, which is crazy expensive.
