The Yaris headlights are dual beam within the same bulb. 9003 is the correct bulb type. What were the ones that you purchased?

Scratch part of what I just posted on Kal-El's Mileage thread. Here I thought my High beams had lasted 7+ years, when in reality they were getting refreshed every time (only 4 x total as each side now on 2nd replacement after the bulbs put on the car when it was manufactured) a burnt out low beam was replaced . Of course, it is indeed 9003 (the 9003 code even appears on my AutoZone receipt from earlier today), and is now working perfectly on my Yaris.

Unfortunately, I can't recall the type of bulb. I just bought what the back of the manual specified. HB2 bulbs, apparently. That's all I remember focusing on, 9003 doesn't ring a bell. I didn't keep the packaging, either. So it's possible that I purchased the wrong bulbs, but I'm sure my lights were working normally after they were put in. I just find it strange that the high beams work fine, and the normal intensity fails to fire if it's the same bulb. Perhaps I'll just buy more lights, but I've been trying to avoid that because I'm not convinced my current lights are dead. |
