3 door vs 5 door hatch

I am married with two teenagers, and while it is rare we have gone on short road trips in my 3-door hatch. Usually no more than a couple of hours, but it's never really been a problem except for trying to get up steeper hills with four people in the car!

The 3-door just makes more sense, it's easier to get in/out of and while it may not be quite as easy as a 5-door to get people in the back seats, it's not that difficult.
