I didn't realize the OEM interval was being pushed to 10k. Is that with the 1NZ?
I wonder if there's a certain kind of oil that has to be used to get that. I sure wouldn't trust just any ol' oil to go that long. When I was on AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30, I wasn't losing a drop. All the way up to 14,000 miles, our dipstick never showed less than absolutely tip-top. Back when I was using Mobil1 5W-30 (first 70,000 miles), I changed every 5k and by the time 5k rolled around, I had lost some oil (may .3~.5 of a quart). I never did analysis on the M1 in the Yaris but I'm going longer and getting better fuel efficiency with the AMSOIL. |

synthetic

I cannot find it specifically, but I found this article on Edmunds and it would be if you use synthetic oil. http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/stop...-your-oil.html I know Mobil 1 has an oil that has a 15 k interval. But since you are using Amsoil, you definitely doing OK. I just never got around to a oil analysis. I am tempted to try a 0w-30 for better fuel efficiency. Thanks for your 2 cents. regards |
