Looking at the pictures again, I'm very confused about which variant this is. There's no counterweights on the gear select shaft, the gear select shaft doesn't protrude from the narrow end, no position restrictor pin, and a stamped steel 5th gear cap. Finances are really tight right now, otherwise I'd buy it just to see what's inside of it.

I wish I could tell you, it was sold to me as a Yaris tranny. The only thing I can confirm is that it will not work in an Echo :/

I'll try to grab some more pics of the tranny soon and find some numbers on it.

With the yellow junkyard writing on it, is there a full VIN number there?

This. If there's a VIN plate, it will be on the face of the output shaft that faces away from the bell housing.
