thanks for the tip scott, managed to reset the airbag light, I couldnt read the code though.

I took it to my friends body shop today and he found that the yaris had been in a small impact on the drivers rear side. He did say there was no frame damage and the repair was done properly(so good I didnt even notice it), I told this to the owner and haggled him down to 8k. My guy looked at every other inch of the car and couldnt find anything else wrong with it. All VIN stickers are present so I pulled the trigger

Nice. If it cleared and doesn't come back, then the problem was likely resolved, but they didn't reset the SRS ECU.

So far so good, after they guy had it reset(don't know how, but I do know the light wasn't unplugged from the cluster and everything else is acting good)

I've driven 250 miles with and without a passenger and the system has been behaving as expected. (weight sensor working when passengers sit/exit the vehicle).

I checked for any recalls and for my VIN there are none.

The things the car had when I bought it:
Rear drivers water leak by taillight/trunk seem - Fixed with silicon by applying a nice big coat outside and inside the vehicle.

Rear drivers side bumper reinforment bar support - It was a bit smashed for the impact, I ordered a new OEM toyota(body shop buddy gets 40% on all OEM parts) one along with the shock absorbers for the bar.

Acc belt squeak - Gone after re adjusting the tension on the alternator, belt seemed fine.

I'm in love with this little sedan after having my 07 HB totaled
