I used.a spark plug socket. If you're going to do it yourself, make sure to stabilize the.extension (applying pressure towards the block) as you're unscrewing. Otherwise, you'll end up doing what I did.

thanks im changing plugs soon in my 2007 yaris. Only 56000 miles but I do not want plugs seizing in aluminum head.
