Thanks again.... Since cleaning the sensor the ABS light has been on/off continuously as I drive, definitely got the correct wheel! as it was not doing this before, the system is working when the light is off.....

Looks rusty inside the hole towards the ring and the ring appears completely rusty- the only way I will know for sure is to pull apart the steering knuckle , or could I spray some brake cleaner in the hole?

I will update when I get round to this.

You could try brake cleaner.
