The movie was terrible. Rogan and Franco are going down a horrible spiral and taking the masses with them. This movie was so bad I had to continue to tell myself to not get up and leave. Shame on Sony for even allowing it to be filmed. They obviously only have dollar signs in their sites. With all of the controversy you would think that it would at least be bearable.

Only one movie of the 17 movies that garnered one or more nominations in the 8 major Oscar categories is on Redbox.....Boyhood. It is a Richard Linklater film.....filmed over 12 years with the same actors, it follows the central boy character growing up. It would take someone with Linklater's critical clout, plus a close relationship with the actors (he uses many of the same actors in his movies) to even attempt this. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette star as the boy's parents. I watched it today. I found it an astounding achievement. I thought it really rang true. I think anyone who has ever lived with or had a relative who is an alcoholic, I imagine, would agree. It is the only movie in the 21st century to score a perfect 100 on Metacritic. It is also a wonderful homage to Texas. Anyone who thinks all of Texas is flat, or that Texas doesn't have any greenery will learn otherwise. |
