Thanks! I was looking for a copy of the manual, it's in my car at the dealer. The guy told me anything to do with the clutch was under the basic 36 month/36,000 mile warranty. I see where the clutch COVER is included in the 5 yr/60000 mile powertrain warranty. I have no choice now, I told them 2 hours ago to fix it, but I'm opting for the non-OEM parts.

Is the throwout bearing part of the clutch assembly? One thing, now that I think about it, the past 8-9 months the clutch was a little sticky on damp days until I drove it 2-3 miles.

This comes at a bad time. I lost my job of 20+ years in August and the economy still sucks here in Indianapolis, at least for secretary jobs. I'm struggling enough with making my car payment on unemployment compensation. Thankfully, I have an interview with Manpower as a last resort on Thursday, maybe they can find something for me.

No matter the outcome, I will be filing a dispute with Toyota over this. I've never EVER had a clutch problem with any of my former cars, not even my car before the Yaris, a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, it had 108,000 miles on it and never gave me any transmission problems.

My oil pressure switch went out and cost like $175 to replace at the dealer. I got reimbursed ~$100 from Toyota customer relations when I applied as the service manager suggested.

Have to believe your situation qualifies...
