Standard or auto? If it's auto just slam your foot to the floor, the Yaris tends to err on the side of fuel efficiency so it isn't close to a sport drive so the downshift isn't instant. On my '02 Echo I had to tighten the throttle cable as it was loose and was causing it to be more difficult to down shift.
In your case you are drive by wire so there is no cable to tighten. It could be a leaking exhaust, dirty air filter, as well as many other things so it would be tough to narrow down if there is in fact an issue with acceleration. If it is a standard then just down shift. It's a small engine but I find if I need power and downshift to about 5,000 rpm's it has more than enough. |
