How much should struts/shocks install cost?

Hi guys, I got a deal on a set up Tokico's for the Scion XD and was wondering what is the maximum I should pay for installation as I'm not familiar with it? Basically, what price is too much to pay someone to do it?

If you can, do it yourself. Rears are super simple, fronts aren't too bad. I'm not mechanically inclined but I went over to my buddy's house and we got it done a few hours.

^^^Yeah definitely. However, I recently moved and honestly don't know anyone. Back home, I had friends who I could work on this together. I also live in an apartment complex where you can't work on cars and don't have tools such as the spring compressor. I rather not risk messing my up my car, but don't want to get ripped off.

I do love the pride aspect for the few things I have installed myself though!

The spring compressor can be "borrowed" from advance or autozone with their "loan a tool program". (that's how I did mine though just lowering springs... same concept)

as far as the apartment not allowing a person to work on their cars, I'm actually surprised there aren't yarisworld members near you that would help you out. I have been willing in the past though not that many yarisworld(ers) live near me.

I should just mention that the rear shocks in a sedan are trickier than the HB guys.

In the sedan, you have to remove the side plastic panels in the trunk to access the top nut on the shock. The hatch has convenient little access panels that easily pop off.

if not mistaken ...shop should charge about 2 hrs for full install plus alignment at extra cost.
To save money u can do rears at home cos they are easy even with little trim removal then have the shop do the rest ..just an idea.

see no reason why it would cost more maybe the set up after as for alignment i say 50 to 80 bucks for fourwheel.

I don't have a garage. I'm going to my sister's house to lower my car and I need you guys help. What tools (socket sizes, wrenches, etc...) do I need to bring for this process? I plan on lowering my '08 Yaris 3dr this weekend. TIA!

If ur car has been used in the winter u will need a torch ...u need 19 mm 17 mm open and alen keys 14 I think for sway bar ...10 mm plus have to remove wipers and everything in that area lol etc
