A current Yaris sedan does exist for some markets, but the US got screwed out of it this time around. It's sad because it looks like a great car, arguably better than the hatch we get, depending on your likes.
![]() Toyota sold quite a bit of Yaris sedans in the US, particularly from '07-'09. This is a missed sales opportunity for Toyota, but they just want to move you into a Corolla. As far as styling trends, yeah, every 5-10 years carries trends that seem to cross the auto industry, that's just natural. However, compare today's variety to any other decade, and we see far greater distinction across the industry. Aside from having so many categories of vehicles compared to very few categories in the past, we have way more dynamically shaped and styled cars today. Remember when every car (say '70s and '80s) had virtually the same headlights (basically universal rectangular or circular units). Most taillights were rectangular and very similar. Most grills were plain rectangles. |
