I test drove the iA before I bought my Yaris... Just too many gadgets & gismos for my taste.

Plus my Yaris feels like I'm in an extended truck cab (spacious, utilitarian).

So will the iA become Yaris sedan, and iM become Yaris Hatch / Auris hatch?

Will the 1NZ-FE motor be a thing of the past in the USA after 2016??

The iA (Yaris Sedan) is a rebadged Mazda2 sedan with a different front bumper/snout. The 2017 Yaris hatchback will be the Mazda2 hatchback version of the same car - probably with a matching ugly snout (hopefully, Toyota will redesign the front for both and move away from the iA front styling). Since both cars are 99.9% Mazda2, they will be using the Mazda direct-inject SKYACTIV engines, drive-trains, etc. I seriously doubt that you will see the 1NZ-FE engine in North America again after 2016.
